I was listening to the local NPR programming recently which featured a segment on a funeral held for documentary photography in LA. Documentary photography, you see, is apparently dead. Killed by the waning budgets of newspapers and publishers, killed by the non-existence of programs such as the Farm Security Administration which brought images of a depression-era landscape seen through the lenses...

I’ve seen a few photographers that I follow post their top photos of the past year, so I thought I would finally bite and share my top five favorites from 2010.
2010 wasn’t bad in terms of actually getting out and taking photos, at least the first three quarters of it. I moved half-way across the country and started a new academic program in the fall, so that sort of curtailed a lot...
One of my books for the spring semester is called “Cyber-Marx”. It sadly, is not about a cyborg Karl Marx. Though if this semester goes poorly, now I have a good idea for a book I could write.
I am finding that the more content I actually consume on net, the less likely I am to produce.
